Imperial War Museum

On Saturday we spent about 5 hours at the Imperial War Museum. It is devoted to the World Wars and the fighting in the world since then. It holds some truly amazing artifacts including fighter planes, tanks, missiles and submarines.
Part of the WW2 section detailed how children were sent from London to the country during the war. London was blitzed with nightly air raids for 57 consecutive nights as Britain stood alone against Hitler and children were safer away from home. I found this part of the museum both fascinating and heartbreaking. The propaganda posters were compelling, I took pictures of a ton of them... this one seemed like a good representative!
This is a letter from a child in the British countryside to his parents in London. I had to share it because I think it's hilarious!! He says it so perfectly... seeing the sun so early in the year after growing up in London must have been quite a surprise!
